Summer update

Okay, I’m trying to get better at this communication thing. When so much of your time is spent in front of a computer…you know the cliches.

Anyway, a few points of potential interest to my readers:

—The next Ethan March novel is on the way. It’s taken longer than I anticipated, but I’m shooting for Spring 2023. If you can’t wait that long…I’m not sure what to tell you. Maybe go back and read The Hook Slips again to catch yourself up on the story so far? What I can tell you is that, if the first one seemed bleak, Book 2 makes The Hook Slips feel like a Sunday school picnic. A reflection of our times, maybe.

—The podcast I’ve been teasing for what seems like eternity is now finally in post-production and should arrive before the end of 2022. It’s called Cicatrix, and it’s a serialized story of family secrets, small town atrocities, and cosmic horror. You can sign up for updates at www.sensoryeclipse.com.

—As many of you know, I’m an obsessive puzzle enthusiast. My house is burgeoning at the seams from all the mail-order puzzles, subscriptions, etc., and so I figured I should throw my hat in the ring, as I had the makings of a good story that fits in a puzzling framework. More on that as it gets closer.

I’m also toying with the idea of some sort of Patreon type subscription model whereby I can offer oddball stuff from the filing cabinet: one-off puzzles, short stories, bits of projects that didn’t get off the ground. Chuck Palahniuk’s Plot Spoiler has been enlightening in terms of potential - I’m no Chuck, but I do pretty much work nonstop on my various projects and have decades worth of nonsense I could potentially share.

Have a good rest-of-summer, kiddies!
