Fall 2023: Cicatrix, Lullabies, and More

I have been SO remiss in posting here over the last month or two, and for that, my friends, I apologize! It’s been quite the time creatively, and throw moving into a new house on top of that, and you have a recipe for…well, very little time.

Let me give a belated and much needed shoutout to all who came out to Flashback Weekend back in August. THANK YOU for your support, for buying books, for stopping to chat, and for sharing your consistently alarming six-degrees-of-John Wayne Gacy stories (spurred by the shirt in my shop - you know, the Georgia Blevin special from Junkman?) - I had to start writing them down because I knew I’d never remember them. It was a fun, fun weekend, and I look forward to doing it again next year.

Thank you, too, to all those who have been supporting my new short story collection, The Mystery of Lullabies. The response has been really great to see - if you don’t have it yet, check it out in my shop or on Amazon. And if you buy it or Kindle-Unlimited that sucker on the Big A, please do me the solid of a review? It helps me reach more people and, by extension, raises your boy’s profile over here.

November has been big, mainly because my long-promised podcast, Cicatrix, is now alive and kicking wherever you listen. The debut episode hit on Halloween, and it’s bi-weekly through this first season with a holiday break in the middle. I really hope you’ll check it out, and I’m reluctant to say much because I think it’s more fun to go into the story blind. Check it out at Sensory Eclipse Media’s website (www.sensoryeclipse.com). We have another podcast coming soon, as you’ll see over there, but more on that as it happens. For now, go throw some love at Cicatrix - and again, reviews of any kind really help to get it in front of people.

So what’s next? A lot of things, actually. Season One of Cicatrix was a big project, and now that it’s about to be fully out there, I can concentrate on some other things, like my next novel, which may land next year - just depends. Some of you also know that I’m obsessed with puzzle games - and as such, I’m almost done writing the first interactive puzzle experience for Midnight Parlor Puzzles & Novelties (www.midnightparlor.com) - a delightful tale of witchcraft, the occult, and what happens when people gossip in small towns. The Kickstarter goes live on November 30th if you’re into that kind of thing. Beyond that, suffice to say that I have a lot planned for 2024. I’ll post again - I promise - before this year’s careens to an end.

Go eat whatever it is you eat for Thanksgiving, and I’ll talk to you all soon. As always, thank you.
